Why use foam?
PVC / Foam is a manmade product with low cost in mind. Flat cut letters made from PVC / foam is used a lot for short term applications like exhibitions/shows due to its cheap cost and light weight nature.
We also make Prismatic PVC / Foam letters and logos for that 3D effect as this material is very soft and easy to machine on a CNC router.
Where is this type of lettering used?

What happens to the waste of foam?
90% of our materials is re-cycled, at Tradesigns UK we are extremely aware of the need for re-cycling to help the environment and run a strict green policy with 90% of all our waste products being re-cycled. Unfortunately this is one product we have been able to re-cycle to date, so if you know of anyone who can please advise us as it would be nice to re-cycle 100% of all products used.
What colours and sizes can I have?
COLOURED Foam is available in 3mm & 5mm thick and it comes in sheets of 2440mm x 1220mm, 3050mm x 1220, 3050mm x 1525mm & 3050mm x 2030mm
WHITE Foam is available in 1mm to 25mm thick and it comes in sheets of 2440mm x 1220mm, 3050mm x 1220, 3050mm x 1525mm & 3050mm x 2030mm
Which foam brands do we stock and use?
We do have a wide range of Foam available for making flat cut letters, primarily our main suppliers are Amari plastics & Perspex distribution at present due to high levels of customer service and great delivery response, and we can also source other brands.
What are the limits for cutting?
There are not many limits due to the accuracy of the CNC router which has a 0.2mm tolerance but the tooling and bed size, the smallest tool we use is 3mm and the deepest can be up to 25mm. The only restrictions are the sheet sizes as above and the point where letters get to 35mm cap height.
With over two decades of experience in the sign industry we have purchased only the best technologies and tooling for the job, primarily we cut all letters with CNC routers with bed sizes of 3050mm x 2050mm but for high grade flat cut letters with that perfect flame polished finished we use high powdered LASER profile cutting machine which has a 3000mm x 1500mm dual changing beds to allow for continuous production, costing £250,000 this is technology only the best sign companies have to get the best results.
